2014 Native American Conference on Special Education

2014 Native American Conference on Special Education, "Honoring Our Voices, Our Stories, and Our Journey," sponsored by the Educating Parent of Indian Children with Special Needs (EPICS) will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 26-28, 2014.

EPICS is a non-profit community parent resource center for families who live in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado and who have American Indian children with disabilities and/or special healthcare needs from birth to age 26.  EPICS aims to assist families to influence change in their communities to maximize positive outcomes for children with disabilities and special healthcare needs.

The SC3 Indian Education Technical Assistance Coordinator will be at the conference to support New Mexico Public Education Department Assistant Secretary for Indian Education Ferlin Clark in addressing Indian education issues in New Mexico.  SC3 contines to support increased awareness of special education issues for American Indian students in South Central Region.
