Kansas Project Update
C3’s Project Update from December 2014 highlighted the improved teacher licensure process at the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). C3 and the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC) collaborated with the KSDE Teacher License and Accreditation team in the Division of Learning Services (DLS) to improve that process. APQC believes systems within SEAs can be more efficient through process and performance management (PPM), a methodology that teaches SEAs, districts, and schools how to improve outcomes by redesigning the internal processes that create those outcomes. C3, KSDE, and APQC are currently working on additional PPM projects within DLS that include two additional teams: Early Childhood Special Education and Title I & Career Standards and Assessment. All teams and the entire division will benefit from engaging in PPM by collaborating on the following new projects: Strategic Planning, Communication, Cross-functional Collaborative Opportunities, and Human Capital (Professional Learning).
